Each year we recognize individuals and groups who share our vision by presenting annual awards and bursaries.

Anne Stafford “Light Up the Future” Bursary
Financial support available to people who have an intellectual disability to pursue a personal development opportunity which may come from an education program or personal interest course.

Canadian Association for Community Living Inclusive Education Award – Ontario
The Inclusive Education Award is given by the Canadian Association for Community Living to an individual or team in each of the 13 provinces or territories that has made a positive contribution towards the goal of meaningful inclusion in the education system of students who have a disability.

James Montgomerie Community Award
The James Montgomerie Community Award was established in memory of Jim Montgomerie, an educator and past president of Community Living Ontario. Originally, the award was established based on Jim’s belief that people who have an intellectual disability and who live in institutions, homes for special care, and nursing homes deserve a better quality of life. James Montgomerie Honour Award
An award given to a person who promotes equality for all citizens. The James Montgomerie Honour Award is presented annually to a person who has an intellectual disability who demonstrates leadership by:
Promoting the equality of people.
Speaking up publicly or helps others speak up.
Acting in a way which teaches others about the abilities and strengths of individuals.
Actively participating on committees and promoting the goals of inclusion and citizenship.

Local Association Newsletter Recognition Award
This competition recognizes the outstanding efforts of volunteers and staff in writing and designing local newsletters that foster good communication among members of local associations and their communities. Two categories: general newsletters and individual articles.

Media Award
The Media Award is presented to a journalist who has demonstrated excellence in either print or electronic media. The article must be relevant to people who have an intellectual disability.
The recipient will be selected on the basis of an original article appearing in print or electronic media in Ontario between January 1 and December 31 of a given calendar year. Deadline for nominations is February 28.

Website Award
This award is designed to encourage local associations to elevate their awareness of websites as a vital communications tool which contain content that is current, accurate, and relevant to the audience.

Awards of Distinction
From time to time, the Board of Directors of Community Living Ontario also recognizes people and organizations for their unique gifts and compelling contributions to the vision of inclusion and citizenship of people who have an intellectual disability.
Recognition of Lifetime Achievement
This special award is presented on occasion to individuals to recognize unparalleled contribution to the goals of Community Living Ontario.
Honourary Life Membership
Given by the Board of Directors to honour the remarkable contributions of individuals.
William G. Davis Award
This award is named after former Ontario Premier William G. Davis. It has been presented only once at the Community Living Day at the Legislature in May, 2005.
